While the RAM is known as “volatile” memory, the hard drive in turn is known to be “non-volatile” memory for the reason that all the details stored in your hard drive is retained even after you power off your laptop. Data in the hard drive can only be cleaned if it’s written over or erased by you.

PROCESSOR

The processor (or CPU) can be defined as the power house of the computer. It is the main component that make ready all information and carries out your computers commands. The CPU does overheat because of its various jobs, and that is the reason why you should acquire a heat sink and a cooling fan connected on its motherboard.

KEYBOARD

This is the key input device of your laptop. They are usually used to in put commands on the computer, or to put it in a simple form, used as the equipment the user can make use of to “talk” to the computer.

OTHER COMPONENTS

The other components of a laptop are as follows- CD/DVD optical drive, LCD screen, video card and the wireless network card. The CD/DVD optical drive enables you to read and put in writing data from/to a CD or DVD disc.
