Value of a ’69 Pontiac RAM AIR III Engine?
My dad has a ’66 GTO with a ’69 RAM AIR III, including exhaust manifolds and complete intake.
The engine has around 20,XXX miles on it.
He would like to know the value of the engine, because he is going to drop the original engine back in.
Been doing some research on these engines…
His has all original matching parts…
Looks like something like this is selling for $5,000+ together or parted out…
want to sell it? for any Pontiac enthusiest, or for someone restoring an old Pontiac, it’s pure gold, Thats one hell of a motor and I would put it back into that GTO no matter how much it’sworth parted out. I don’t know if you could get $5000 out of it, but for a motor it’s worth a good chunk of change. The only one’s I see going for $5000 are the ones that are pretty heavily modified from Pontiac engine builders and they are new or rebuilt.
You could probably get around $500 just for the manifolds, and $1000 for the heads, other than that the rest is just a regular Pontiac motor.
In the long run it’s worth more as a complete motor in your GTO..
